Stone Mountain Independence Day parade

The DeKalb GOP marched in the Stone Mountain Independence Day parade and had a lot of fun! Thanks to Maxie Price Chevrolet, we had two beautiful Corvettes to drive, including one painted in the Stars and Stripes that was the hit of the parade! We had plenty of candidates for office come out to the parade, and a few of our members shared their thoughts on Independence Day. Thanks to everyone who came out!

DeKalb GOP in the Dunwoody Independence Day parade!

The DeKalb GOP had a great time marching in the Dunwoody Independence Day parade on Monday, July 5. here was a huge turnout on the 2.6-mile route. WSB Channel 2 caught up with our chairman, Frank Auman, who said (at 0:45) that DeKalb County has the fourth largest numbers of Republican voters in the state, which may surprise some people. A few candidates were also interviewed.

America’s “environmentalist” celebrities are silent on the Gulf oil spill

Why are America’s leading “environmentalist” celebrities essentially silent on the debate over the worst environmental disaster of our time?  Where are the telethons and fundraisers?

During the Exxon Valdez spill in 1989, then Senator Al Gore Albert Gore was leading the charge against Exxon and President George Herbert Walker Bush (please note that the current spill is already 15 times the Exxon Valdez and growing)!   Although, then President Bush was found not accountable for the actions of the Valdez.  There hasn’t been a peep out of Gore regarding the current spill.

And where are Hollywood liberals like Leonardo DiCaprio and Ted Danson?  After Hurricane Katrina, Hollywood stars demonized Bush for the slow reaction to Katrina while the real culprits lay with the Democratic Mayor of New Orleans and Democratic Governor of Louisiana.  President George W. Bush called on Mayor Ray Nagin and Gov. Kathleen Blanco to order a mandatory evacuation hours prior to the storm’s arrival and they ignored his heed.

Wildlife is currently fleeing to the shores of the Gulf coast states, maybe to a mass death, because of the inactions of the current Administration.  If this were a Republican Administration, you can be assured that the liberal elite would be sounding the horn for action!
