Topic: Georgia is a Human and Sex Trafficking Hub – What Happens to Those Caught in this Inhumane Trap?
It has been estimated that 3,600 minors are sold into sex slavery every year in the state of Georgia which would fill 72 school buses with children.* And the FBI believes that the $290 million sex trafficking industry in Georgia is growing because it is profitable.
“In this city, Atlanta has become a hub for human trafficking. Innocent children are simply being sold for sex. Evil people committing evil deeds all to turn a profit,” said Governor Brian Kemp following Super Bowl 53 after the the FBI arrested 169 people over 11 days which included 23 traffickers and 34 people attempting to engage in sex acts with minors.
While Georgia law enforcement continues to chip away at this heinous industry by arresting these sexual predators in sting operations, what happens to the victims in the aftermath and recovery is often forgotten or unknown.
Come hear first hand how these young sex trafficking survivors are getting the assistance, treatment and training to lead a productive and fulfilling life.
